Calcitonin-Salmon

Calcitonin-Salmon nasal spray is used in the treatment of postmenopausal osteoporosis in females greater than 5 years postmenopause with low bone mass.

This product is available as a metered spray containing calcitonin, salmon 200 international units in 1 spray.

Instructions

Your dosage is based on your medical condition and the way you will respond to treatment. Take this drug regularly to experience the most benefits. You should also take this drug at the same time each day. This medication is for use in the nose as directed, usually one spray in one nostril each day, alternating nostrils daily.

If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. Continue to use it as prescribed by your doctor or as stated on the package label.

Interactions

Calcitonin-Salmon may interact with medications such as lithium. Tell your doctor about prescription drugs, nonprescription drugs, and herbal products you may use with Calcitonin-Salmon.

Side Effects

There are no side effects known aside from a possible allergic reaction in people who have previous or unknown hypersensitivity to the drug.

Watch out for signs of allergic reactions such as:

• Rash
• Itching
• Swelling
