Endometrin is a drug used in the support of embryo implantation and early pregnancy by supplementation of corpus luteal function as part of an Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) treatment program for infertile women.
This drug is available as an effervescentintravaginal tablet containing progesterone 100 milligrams.
Instructions

This medication should be used intravaginally. Use the applicator to insert this medication into the vagina, usually 2 or 3 times a day as directed by your doctor.
Your dosage is based on your medical condition and the way you will respond to treatment.
If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. Continue to use it as prescribed by your doctor or as stated on the package label.
Interactions
Endometrin may interact with medications such as:
- Rifampin
- St. John's wort
- Azole antifungals such as itraconazole
- Carbamazepine, phenobarbital or phenytoin
- Other vaginal products
Side Effects
There are no side effects known aside from a possible allergic reaction in people who have previous or unknown hypersensitivity to the drug.
Watch out for signs of allergic reactions such as:
- Rash
- Itching
- Swelling
Warnings
Before taking this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have the following:
- Allergy to progesterone
- History of blood clots
- Recent stroke or heart attack
- Liver disease
- Cancer of the breast or other female organs
- Vaginal bleeding of unknown cause
- Missed abortion
- Ectopic pregnancy
- Kidney disease
- Heart disease
- High blood pressure
- Seizures
- Migraine headaches
- Asthma
- Depression
- Diabetes
- Strokes
- High cholesterol or triglyceride levels in the blood
