Are bone degenerative diseases hereditary?

In my family particularly from my mother's side bone degenerative diseases are very common. Are they hereditary? What can be done to prevent it?

Bone degenerative diseases and mainly osteoarthritis have a genetic component but above all it is a result of advancing age and wear and tear. A healthy balanced diet and healthy and gentle daily exercise can help a great deal in preventing and alleviating the symptoms caused by degenerative arthritis
Joint degenerates due to cartilage cell disease and from mechanical stress (obesity, injury, age, malalignment). Genome project information is in early stages of application but already tells us about new bone and joint health opportunities. Genetics are not a major factor contrasted with all of the others. There are uncommon genetic factor bone and joint diseases but they more commonly manifest in children.
They are hereditary. Stay thin and fit.
Bone disease is hard to prevent. If you are concerned about your health, I would recommend following up with your family physician.
Osteoarthritis is a genetic degenerative joint disease that is common in family members. You cannot prevent any osteoarthritis in the joints. The most important thing is to stay strong and flexible. There is also autoimmune diseases that can cause degenerative joint diseases but they can cause joint damage and they are not as common and treated differently.
