Are fruits okay for diabetic patients?

My mother suffers from type 2 diabetes, and has been dealing with severe constipation. I heard that some fruits aren't safe for her because of their sugar content, but should I try to give her fruits that have some fiber? s

Prunes are good for constipation. Fruits are no problem for diabetics. The issue is calories. Not to over burden the sytem with calories, no matter what the source.
For sweet fruits, sugar goes up but apparently down quicker but needs to monitor.
Sure
Diabetics can enjoy fruit as a part of a healthy balanced diet, according to the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases. Keep in mind that fruits are higher in sugar than others.
