Bronchitis and diarrhea?

I was prescribed an antibiotic for my bronchitis earlier this week. Well, I also have the unfortunate rare side effect of diarrhea from bronchitis and it has only gotten worse over the last 3 days. And when I say it’s bad I mean I’m going to the restroom at least 30+ times a day. So my question is can I take Imodium while taking the antibiotics to stop diarrhea?

It's not rare and it's not from the Bronchitis. You should take a probiotic
Hi, If you are taking antibiotics for any reason and develop diarrhea significant enough for movements 30 times a day, you may have a condition called C diff Colitis. The next most important step is to see your primary care physician for evaluation and possible stool studies.
Get tested. Go see a doc.
Especially if the diarrhea started after you started the antibiotic, you must stop the antibiotic and get a stool test for c.deficel. This is most important.
Yes you can use Imodium. But be aware that you might have C difficile infection which can happen after or during use of antibiotics. Significant diarrhea like you are having deserves some evaluation by a PCP or GI doc.
I strongly doubt that your diarrhea is due to bronchitis. If you are taking an antibiotic that is a much more likely cause of it and if so you should not take Imodium. What you need to do now is to be evaluated by a physician without delay. You also need to make sure that you stay well hydrated. Usually acute bronchitis in a healthy young patient does not require antibiotics. A diagnosis of Clostridioides difficile causing pseudomembranous colitis must be cinsidered and, if so, the antibiotic discontinued and vancomycin would be indicated. Again, I must make clear that you need to see a physician immediately.
Please call your doctor. You could have antibiotic-induced diarrhea or c.diff.
