Can I have GERD?

I have three family members with Barret's esophagus. I only have a nagging cough, especially after I eat. Can I have GERD?

There's a high probability
You can. Cough is what we can an atypical manifestation of GERD. Acid can come up into the trachea and cause cough.
Yes you can but get a diagnosis first
It's possible, but the chances of having GERD are much higher if you have the more classic symptom, which is heartburn. If you don't have heartburn then we would not expect acid reflux to causing other symptoms in most cases.
