Ear, Nose and Throat Doctor (ENT) Questions Concussion

Can a concussion exacerbate tinnitus

I broke my foot and have been learning to walk again. I realized that the tinnitus in my left ear (where I have historically had problems) is louder and worse. Can a concussion (I don't know how long I was out, but I was out according to witnesses) cause increased tinnitus and is that dangerous?

Tinnitus happens because of hearing loss. Concussions can cause hearing loss in various ways, so yes, it can increase tinnitus. An audiogram is best to evaluate your hearing loss.
