Yes, a neurologist can help by checking for related conditions like seizures or developmental delays, but autism care often involves other specialists like developmental pediatricians, therapists, and psychologists. If you have any further questions or need more clarity, please consult with a psychiatrist. If youre in Texas, we welcome you to reach out to www.MidCitiesPsychiatry, were here to help you.
The usual neurologist would not provide care assistance for an autistic child but a specially trained pediatric neurologist might be helpful. You would need to inquire to find a neurologist experienced with autism.
Neurologists don’t necessarily specialize in autism - a better approach would be to find a psychologist or ABA therapist to work with yourdaughter. It also depends on what kind of help you are interested in, as well as how old your daughter is. A psychologist who specializes in Autism would be a great first place to start, and should be able to make appropriate referral recommendations as needed.

Neurologists have some training in psychiatry. They could help with any neurological issues that arise independently of autism, but typically it's treated by a psychiatrist.
