Exercise is important to mental health. Exercising regularly usually serves to regulate mood states, and can decrease negative emotions such as depression. If you are exercising regularly and still having anxiety, please seek therapy to address the anxiety. A healthy diet and exercise routine isn’t always enough. Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) is a specific type of therapy to help people learn to understand the cause of their emotions and improve ways of managing or reducing the intensity of negative feelings such as anxiety. CBT focuses on the interrelationships between events, thoughts, feelings, and behavior to identify the source of problems and make changes to improve outcomes and quality of life. It’s particularly effective for anxiety.
