Can low blood sugar wake you up at night?

I have low blood sugar. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night for no reason. Can low blood sugar wake you up at night?

1 Answer

Low blood sugars activate the sympathetic nervous system which causes palpitations, sweats, headaches, nervousness, tremors, and black outs. It’s unlikely that they would just cause you to wake up without any of the other symptoms. Have you checked your blood sugar during one of these wake ups?
