Yes, you need regular checkups to make sure that doesn’t happen.
Yes.
Absolutely!!! If the edges of the crown are not kept clean, bacteria can colonize and damage the tooth structure under the crown and cause a cavity.

Yes, you can have cavities going through the open margins of a crown or to the tooth below the crown margins.

I assume that you are talking about the tooth that has the crown also getting a cavity. The answer is absolutely yes! I have seen many patients develop cavities at the margin of where the crown ends and the tooth begins. Usually this happens between the teeth and is due to lack of flossing to remove debris from between teeth.
Yes, you can get decay under and around margins of a crown.

Yes, you can get decay underneath the crown or below the margin.
Yes, cavities are common where the crown ends and the tooth begins. This is especially true if this is an area where you trap food.
You believe you have a cavity under a crown? The crown itself is made out of a porcelain, metal, or other inorganic material. Decay is only possible in tooth structure. Yes, you could have caries UNDER the crown if food & bacteria can percolate. This could be a big problem, it takes several weeks or months for this to happen. If you have a recent crown and there is sensitivity, it is possible the crown is not seated properly or it is maladjusted.
Yes you can if the crown is old and the tooth underneath is exposed
Yes, unfortunately, caries or cavities are common under crowns. They usually start around the neck of the tooth, where the tooth and the crown meet. It can happen due to either poor hygiene (sugary diet) or ill-fitting crowns.
Dental Crown, can get cavities, If the fit of the crown is not perfect, or there are gum pockets in which bacteria in the gum pockets can cause decays on the ROOT of the teeth which is not covered by the porcelain crown.

Yes. There is still natural tooth structure below the edge of the crown and underneath the surface of the crown. Therefore, you can get a cavity right where the crown meets the tooth which can then grow underneath the crown. If you believe that you have a cavity, please see your dentist right away.
