I will get a dental crown next week. Do gums grow around dental crowns?

If, the crown is properly prepared and cement/bonded in place, yes gingival tissues grown around dental crowns. Sometimes this is not possible due to your periodontal status. Ask your dentist about your specific situation.
Yes. In most people with healthy gums, they adapt around crowns in time.

That can happen when there’s inflammation. You need to get a dental exam when that happens to determine the causes.
Tricky questions. Gum growth follows bone height. So if the gum dropped but the bone didn’t it will grow back.
