Most coughs for children are of viral origin and will get better on their own. Antibiotics are generally not needed.
The use of the term bronchitis in a child is very vague and misleading, it does not mean that there is an infection sometimes it is used to decribe Asthma in which case antibiotics have no place in the treatment plan.
No
Most bronchitis is viral so no antibiotics needed. Child may develop secondary infection which may require antibiotics. If not improving or getting worse should be seen.
Again it depends on the age, if your daughter is of mature adult age and has had a productive cough for over 3 months, then bronchitis might be a diagnosis to entertain. If your daughter is a pediatric patient, the condition is more likely an asthmatic event for which treatment is established, and a trained and good pediatrician will guide the treatment needed and monitor all steps.
