Radiologist | Diagnostic Radiology Questions Tinnitus

Does Tinnitus cause blood pressure to rise?

I recently realized that my ears started ringing (Tinnitus) causing me concern. Shortly thereafter my usually normal blood pressure had risen higher than usual and wondering if the Tinnitus caused the rise in blood pressure, or could the rise in blood pressure cause the ringing in my ears. I know there's no cure for Tinnitus, but the rise in blood pressure has me equally concerned.

The rise in blood pressure could most certainly cause ringing in the ears.
No, nothing to do with it.
The rise in blood pressure could have caused the tinnitus. Likewise, the tinnitus may have caused stress, which can cause a rise in blood pressure. Do you have a primary care physician that you can see to check in?
