I have bad eyesight and want to fix it. Does eyesight get better with wearing glasses?

Your eyesight may improve with glasses if you are farsighted, nearsighted or have astigmatism. There are many other reasons for poor vision. Please visit an ophthalmologist to have your eyes checked. Will wearing proper corrective lenses stabilize or even improve underlying vision? No! The eyes will retain normal changes and visual growth whether or not eyeglasses are worn. Will vision worsen when wearing eyeglasses?  In younger folks under age 30 or so, the need for stronger lenses commonly occurs so wearing glasses does not affect this. So wear your eyeglasses to see better- not for any effect on visual capacity down the road.

No it doesn't. Wearing eye glasses will help you to see better, but does not change your prescription.
