Eye color?

Hello, I suffer from dry eyes and I have read that a hot compress on the eyelids can help. So I have been soaking cotton wool in hot water, rinsing them then placing them onto my closed eyelids, and gently massaging them. I was wondering if the heat can have an ill effect on the pigments (melanin) in the iris causing hyperpigmentation (darkening of the iris color)?

No! For dry eyes, you need dry eye drops.
Warm compresses will absolutely not affect the color of your eyes. Your eyes will NOT darken. Also, just soaking cotton balls in hot water is not the best way to utilize hot compresses, since they cool off way too fast. A cheap and easy way to keep the compresses warm for 10-15 minutes (as is necessary) is to wrap a warm hard-boiled egg in a moist washcloth and place that on your closed lids for a full 10 minutes. The cloth will stay warm and the shape of the egg fits nicely on the eyes. You can then eat the egg or put it in the fridge for later...
Hope this helps.
No.
No, the mild heat applied to the lids is not enough to cause any changes inside the eye. If it was too hot the eyelid skin would burn before anything happened inside the eye.

Hope this helps,

The answer to your question is no. You may want to use something that is lint-free, but if you are getting good results with your current regimen, great!
No. Also vitamins like Omega-3. Theratwarns nutritional supplements work very well. Takes 4-6 weeks to work. Eat them daily. Also a drop of castor oil. OTC from any pharmacy is safe
to use a dropper and put one drop in your eye before sleep. Nompigmetaction changes with these remedies.

No effect. Nothing to worry about.
No effect of mild heat on eye color. SO
Warm compresses are perfectly safe for your pigmentation
