you need a corneal specialist
Get your eyes checked by an eye specialist
Depends on the diagnosis. A complete ophthalmologic exam should be performed.
Please enquire with your ophthalmologist as to whether you have a blocked tear duct. This can often cause recurrent conjunctivitis.
It's very likely something more chronic than an eye infection. I would schedule an exam for chronic blepharitis (inflammation of the eyelids) or dry eye disease. They can have the same symptoms of an eye infection, but they take a more committed treatment plan to see resolution.
You may have a blocked tear duct causing bacteria to reaccumulate in the tears. You should see an eye doctor.
If the drops you have been prescribed are not working, get another opinion.
Your best bet is to seek out a corneal specialist ophthalmologist. Your condition is obviously not something an optometrist should be dealing with.
Consider seeing a cornea specialist, or an ophthalmologist that specializes in meibomian gland disease.
