Nutritionist Questions Nutritionist

ā€œFood Supplements?ā€

Hello, I'm someone who struggles with disordered eating and would like recommendations for supplements. While I am in therapy to actually address the issue, Iā€™d like to take supplements in the meantime to make sure I have enough vitamins, minerals, etc. Correcting disordered eating takes a long time and my body feels very bad all the time so I want a temporary solution for now. I struggle to eat enough fruits and vegetables and can tell my body is suffering.

I'm so glad that you are working to address your disordered eating. You are right that the only thing that will really make you feel better is getting enough nutrients and calories from your food. Until then I would recommend a general women's once a day vitamin. It is usually helpful to choose nutrient dense foods such as nuts/seeds, yogurt, peanut butter, and avocados when you do eat so that the foods you are taking in are loaded with as much nutrients as possible.
