The image looks suspicious for tonsilliths (or trapped debris in tonsil crypts) not acute tonsillitis.
Sore throat and tonsillitis for two months are not usual. protracted cases, not responding to antibiotics, generally require ent consultation to exclude reflux as contributing factor, Gonorrhea associated tonsillitis (STI/STD), or even malignancy.. post this helps..jo

Thanks for reaching out. It is difficult to offer an assessment based on the photo alone. There appears to be a difference in the size of the tonsils and there is whitish material on the right tonsil which enlarged. The image of the left tonsil is less clear. Not knowing about your symptoms, I would answer your question this way: "not necessarily". Having stated that, an evaluation first by your primary care doctor and then if needed an ENT specialist is justified. I hope this helps.
The answer to that question depends on what the cause of the tonsillitis is. You should set an appointment for further evaluation.
I am not sure what the patient is asking. The picture shows the back of the palate and the superior poles of the tonsils. There may be a small inclusion cyst of the right tonsil but i do not see evidence of tonsillitis.I really do not see enough of the tonsil to offer anymore
comment.
