A kidney biopsy is the gold standard for diagnosis. Let's say you present with a mass in the kidney seen on MRI, X-ray and so on. The only test that tells you what it is is the analysis made by the pathologist. The pathology report will tell the Dr. what type of mass and what area the differential diagnosis. The pathologist is the Dr. behind the Dr. and the one who tell the Dr. the final diagnosis, Thank you.
A kidney biopsy is the most accurate way to diagnose a kidney problem.

If enough tissue sample is obtained, it will be accurate.
Kidney biopsies are usually the "gold standard" for diagnosing kidney diseases. They are very accurate, assuming a good sample is obtained (which should be checked by the person doing the procedure). Hope your kidney problems resolve. David Gordon, MD.
It is very accurate if it has been done correctly which in majority of case it is done properly.
Kidney biopsy is very accurate. However, if the disease has been going on for a long, long time, years, the damage in the kidney becomes difficult to sort out its early and primary cause. So, if you want to do a kidney biopsy, do it as early in the course of the disease as possible.
