How do you know if you have gangrene?

I fell a month after having my leg amputated beneath my knee. How do I know if I have gangrene?

Female | 53 years old
Medications: Flonase, atenolol. Furosemibe, cetirizine, atorvastatin, clopidogrel
Conditions: Amputation

This is not gangrene. Visit Surgeon who performed Surgeon.
From that picture, you definitely have wound separation and need to go see a physician. Gangrene (necrotizing infection) typically presents with drainage, redness, fevers, elevated heart rate, and other abnormalities. I would go to the ER if you are concerned.

There are small areas of blackening, which might require debridement, and this large, open wound needs attention. Please notify your surgeon.
