Varicocele is a painful condition secondary to swelling of the veins of the testicles. It is diagnosed by the primary doctor and requires most of the time a surgical solution performed by the urologist. If pain persists after surgery, the genitofemoral nerve can be blocked and then do neurolysis with cryoablation. This provides relief. Unfortunately, it is temporary, 4-6 months because nerves grow back and pain returns. The good part is that it can be repeated once the pain comes back.
If a varicocele doesn’t bother you or cause fertility problems, you may not need treatment. Wearing tighter fitting underwear (like spandex) or a jockstrap can ease symptoms due to exercise or long periods of standing. Use ice pack twice a daily 15 minutes, but not apply direct ice; wrap ice in towel or clean cloth. If you feel pain, you can take ACETAMINOPHEN tablet common name, Balacet OR take ibuprofen. But if you feel discomfort on your regular day. So I suggest you should go to a urologist.
Varicoceles are often caused by bad valves in the veins that drain the testicles, especially on the left. It is possible for an interventional radiologist to embolize the bad vein so the veins no longer have the high pressure from the incompetent draining veins.
