It will be based on how severe the functional limitation the stroke patient has. It is hard to say how long it is needed.

There are a number of variables to answer in order to answer your question. How long ago was the CVA (stroke)? What are the functional deficits? What are the cognitive deficits? How much support is required from others for activities of daily living? In what type facility are we speaking of…..Acute Care, Long term Care, Skilled Nursing, Community Reintegration?
To answer your question in a general broad way……It could be weeks, and or months, depending on type and quality of health insurance. I dislike that but it is the world in which we are living.
