A few months after uterine fibroid embolization the fibroids start to shrink and bulk symptoms secondary to the fibroids improve.
Most shrinkage within first 4 months but can keep shrinking up to 2 years
The death of the fibroids happens within 24 hours of the UFE procedure, but it takes days to weeks for the dead fibroids to soften and shrink and this results in significant or complete resolution of a woman’s symptoms.
After embolization, fibroids continue to shrink for up to 6 months. Some will liquify, or even pass during the first 2 months after treatment. Usually symptoms improve significantly at 3 months.
6-12 months.
