Some people experience pain even after a root canal for the following day or too. Sometimes the patient waited too long to get treated and the infection that is found atriums the tooth needs sometime to heal. Using some antibiotics and pain killers can aid the recovery amd help with eliminating the pain. Also please keep in mind that the pain should be diminishing as the days go back . If increasing you need to see your doctor.
Your tooth should only be sore for a few days. Any over-the-counter pain medication should be more than sufficient to manage the discomfort. Avoid putting heavy biting pressure on the root canal treated tooth.
Typically, after root canal therapy, the tooth and area will be tender for a few days. Usually this resolves within a few days to a week.
Recovery depends on many factors. Everyone is different. Some are fine with no waiting to recover, others may have problems with pain or swelling lasting days. Your endodontist can give you a better idea after his exam.
Good Luck.
Usually there is no recovery period. Most people go back to work right away after root canal. Some cases are more infected than others and need rest for the day or two. Your endodontist will let you know more in detail.
Normally there is no recovery period, you can go back to work. The only concern is that you will be numb and it may be hard for you to speak or eat and drink for few hours. But some cases, may need rest for the day.
Recovery time is usually immediate after a root canal, meaning you can drive after the procedure and you should be able to resume your normal day in terms of going to work, school, or running errands. However, it is not usual for your tooth to be a little sore for a few days after the root canal, so you should avoid chewing on it.
There is no "right answer". There could be failure or success, no guarantee for root canal therapy.
