Migraine relief can depend on several factors. Some patients immediately fee relief. Others, it can take more time.
Depending on the cause and circumstances of the migraines from one to several acupuncture treatments and lifestyle changes can remove or greatly reduce migraines. Health insurance pays for several treatments including low back pain, and migraines, because it is proven that acupuncture helps with these specific things and of course many more.
each session is 45 minutes
4 treatments per year of problem

For migraines or any other dis/eases, the sessions lasts a good 90 minutes. It gives time for the intake and also time for getting in touch with one another and have confidence built up.

Then time for the treatment session and a plan for the future visits.
We will exam 1st. Then provide dry needling 1st. Patients will find instant results in general.
Depending on patients’ medical histories and conditions, each patient will have different responses. Patients will have to follow up in 3-7days depending on severity.
Patients will be examined again on how much difference they have experienced since the initial acupuncture treatment.
Then we can give patients a plan for symptomatology.
If we find limitations in improvements, we will apply different plans as a holistic approach.
Total about 3 treatments.
There is no on set treatment plan for any problem. You'll decide on one with your acupuncturist.
It depends. Sometimes they go away with one treatment. Sometimes it is palliative care and you need acupuncture on and off for many years
If your migraines are chronic, you will need multiple sessions per week for a period of time. Then you can decrease sessions to once a week when it is under control. You need a private consultation to discuss your migraines issue.
Typically 10-12 sessions are recommended for migraines.
Chinese medicine is individualized, so it's very difficult to say how many treatments might be required to bring something like migraine under control. Typically by the 2nd or 3rd treatment, I have a pretty good idea where a patient is going to end up and how long it's going to take to get there.

I can give you some very general data based on pain management studies that have been done. The thing to keep in mind is statistical data does not tell us anything about how a given individual will respond - some may require more treatment and some may require less. That being said, statistically speaking, a course of acupuncture therapy is usually in the 8-10 range.

My own experience with treating migraines falls, more or less, in line with the statistics. Sometimes migraine patients require a bit of maintenance on top of the initial set of treatments.
