I am taking antidepressants for anxiety. How long should you stay on antidepressants for anxiety?

Namaste,  This is a question you need to ask your prescribing Dr. who is treating you.  They will be aware, from your sessions with them, of your progress and symptoms reduction.  So check with them. In case you have not read "Anxiety and Phobia workbook" you may want to start reading it.  It is by Edmund J. Less than one year. Side effects increase after one year. Apathy for example.
This is somewhat dependent on the current health conditions, The type of medicine and it's side effects as it pertains to the individual person, the dosages, the number of depressive episodes and any risks for relapse. A medication adjustment can usually help if someone is at risk for certain side effects or to stop the furthering of a specific health disparity if the medication could be a risk factor, however, only a licensed mental health professional who is currently watching over your case can make this call regarding your specific health situations and any adjustments.
