Pain after a zirconia crown placement is usually temporary and varies among individuals. It's common to experience some sensitivity or discomfort for a few days up to a week. Over-the-counter pain relievers can help manage any mild pain. However, if you have persistent or severe pain, it's crucial to contact your dentist to ensure there are no underlying issues with the crown or your oral health. Sometimes it takes a few weeks for a patient to acclimate to a new crown; this kind of pain is usually mild. Occasionally, a tooth may have a nerve that was in a fragile state before the crown was completed--either because of a crack or a deep cavity. (Usually this is the reason why a crown was completed in the first place!) But due to a fragile nerve, the nerve can sometimes die off from that stress and require a root canal, even after the crown is finished. This kind of pain would usually be severe and throbbing, not mild discomfort.
You shouldnt have any pain after seating.
Normally there is no pain after any crown placement. Occasionally there is some discomfort from the removal of excess cement. If there is pain following a crown placement, please contact your dentist if it does not resolve or improve in 24 hours.=20
