My nephew is in a coma and on a ventilator for supported breathing for about 20 days. He had to undergo lung surgery and dialysis as well. All this was after he and his father were struck by lightning in an open field. Can we know what to expect and how long will it take for him to recover?

Make sure he is on tube feeding. Pray and talk to him everyday. Leave a Bible opened on Psalm 91 at his bed side. Get the Chaplain to pray weekly over him.
Depends whether the coma was induced by the doctors to make it easier to take care of him or whether it is from bleeding or oxygen deprivation. Being that young gives him a huge advantage.
