How long will my eye hurt after cataract surgery?

I am a 51 year old male. I want to know how long will my eye hurt after cataract surgery?

It should not hurt at all. Maybe a bit scratchy or irritated for a day or two.
How long did my eye hurt after cataract surgery? Have you already had surgery some unreported time ago and is your eye still hurting? Have you actually not had surgery and you are just curious? Either way, it is not unusual to have no discomfort or some mild discomfort briefly after surgery. The eye should not be on a chronic basis. Any significant pain, redness, or change in vision should be immediately reported to the surgeon.

Most patients experience mild irritation/discomfort for a few days. Some people complain for weeks of a foreign body sensation. It’s very individualized, but the vast majority are very comfortable quickly.

This is extremely variable. Many patients have no or little pain, some have pain and need to take tylenol or motrin for a few days.
You are a young man to need cataract surgery. Generally, the healing is rapid and there is almost no pain during that process. Pain medicine is usually not dispensed and the operating doctor wants to know about any pain, which is very rare but may be a clue to something untoward going on.
1. Most times cataract surgery is uncomplicated and done with tony incisions and virtually painless.
2. Anti-inflammatory drops , antibiotic drops, Tylenol or Advil are used to prevent possible causes of pain
3. Notify your Ophthalmologist if you have any persistent or severe pain
The day of surgery it may be sore but it shouldn't hurt at all
You may not have any pain after cataract surgery or maybe milder irritated or painful for a number of days.
