It can range from 1.5-4 hours depending on complexity and the surgical plan.
Jaw surgery (orthognathic surgery) is pretty variable in operative times depending on the team. In our practice lower jaw surgery typically takes about 45 to 50 minutes, start to finish. The upper jaw may vary due to the number of segments, but is usually about an hour to an hour ten minutes. I hope this helps.
