Ophthalmology Questions Ophthalmologist

I have a dark spot on the red fleshy part of the eye (conjunctiva i think its called?) is this something to worry about?

Hi, I am 17 year old male and today I just noticed this dark spot on the red fleshy part of my eye. I will attach a picture of it, I don't have any history of eye problems, I don't wear glasses, and is this something to be concerned about?

A complete ophthalmologic exam should be performed to rule out any malignancy.
Any raised pigmented lesion MUST be evaluated and possibly biopsies. See an Ophthalmologist who is a Cornea and External Disease Specialist without delay.
You need to make an appt with an ophthalmologist so that this lesion can be examined along with a thorough and complete eye exam, plus noting if there are similar features on the face or other eye.
Looks like a benign nevus. See your ophthalmologist who could remove it in a simple office procedure.
Hello, and thank you for your question and accompanying photo.
While it is most often benign, there are a few more worrisome things it could be. I would recommend visiting an ophthalmologist so they can take a closer look and determine if anything further needs to be done (such as observing it closely, removing it, or taking a biopsy).
Hope this helps.
