I have a dropping body temperature with COVID?

My fiancee and I both tested positive for COVID yesterday after birth being vaccinated in May. My temperature was 100.4-101.4. When I took his 98.4, 97.6, 96.2 then 97.0. Why does he keep dropping? Do I need to take him to the ER? He is 41. We both have had chills, nausea, shortness of breath, loss of taste and smell, loss of appetite, the works. He has no prior breathing issues.

People’s body temperature can drop during viral infections and may feel ill in the same way as when their temperature is elevated
97 is not of significant concern but monitor your blood pressure as well and report them to your primary care doctor
Of all the symptoms and signs described, the one that is most concerning is the shortness of breath, which requires immediate attention
Thanks for the question.
Your husband's temperatures are within the normal range, even if they are a bit low for him. They do not signify a problem. If either of you become short of breath, you should be seen.

Good day to you. Thanks for your question.
Briefly, I do suggest you to visit as soon as possible your physician to evaluate the medical condition of your partner as some of his symptoms may suggest Covid infection. If his condition is dropping, do not hesitate to take him straight to ER.
Good luck and stay safe.
