Is stretching good for nerve damage?

I am a 37 year old male. I want to know if stretching is good for nerve damage?

While stretching can be beneficial for improving flexibility and overall well-being, it's important to understand that it may not directly address nerve damage. Nerve damage typically requires medical attention and specialized treatments, depending on the underlying cause. I recommend consulting with a healthcare professional who can evaluate your specific situation and provide appropriate advice and treatment options for your nerve damage.

Hi,

Stretching is good for your body overall, but you don’t want to aggressively stretch the nerve that is damaged because it can cause irritation and inflammation. Gentle stretching is fine and just listen to your body.

"Neural Flossing" is a way to loosen a nerve when it is entrapped. This is a theoretical problem as it relates to "pinched nerves" in the spine. Stretching/flossing/releasing these entrapped nerves may alleviate the problem. I recommend speaking with your physical therapist about these exercises.
It's always a good idea to get a specialist involved before proceeding with stretching in this case. Please seek out a licensed physical therapist for the best techniques to maximize your outcome and minimize the potential for more damage.
Stretching is always good. Be mindful when you are stretching. If pain is severe, stop and do in small increments. Also depends what type of nerve damage we are talking about. One example: if one has sciatica, stretching releases the nerve from adhesion and allows it to heal.
