You should see a dentist, it is not normal to have throbbing pain after a root canal.
There are times that it can be painful soon after treatment. Consult with the doctor who treated you to make certain there is no infection. If the pain lasts more than a couple of days, then it should be checked.
Throbbing pain after a root canal can be normal depending on amount of time elapsed from the procedure. If it has been sometime since the procedure was done, you should probably see the dentist who did the procedure.
Call the dentist who did the root canal 1st.
Throbbing for a few days after a root canal can be expected. Hopefully you have pain medication. If you experience increased swelling or pain after a few days, you should contact your dentist.
By all means go back to the dentist who did the root canal. Some pain is normal immediately after a root canal, but to be safe, have it checked out.
