Yes
Yes. Most often used on the eye or mucosal surfaces.

It is effective but has significant limitations. It takes about 30 minutes to have an effect and that effect only lasts about 20 minutes. It also only causes superficial anesthesia. Meaning only the skin itself is generally anesthestized. anything deeper than that will be painful.

Also, the amount you can use can be limited by anesthetic toxicity if you cover a large area. so using it for something minor and quick is fine.
Yes it’s effective but only for pain relief or minor procedures
Hi,

It depends on the type of surgery and the extent of surgery. It works well for proper cases and suitable procedures. No pain, no ill effects, quick recovery, and safe.

Good luck,

Yes, it could be. Most of the surgeries done under topical anesthesia are eye surgery procedure.

Yes topical anesthesia is effective. Depends on for what purpose as to how effective, but generally speaking yes it works well.
Topic anesthesia is effective on mucous membranes, that is in your mouth, nose, upper airway, rectum and for your eye. It's not very effective for intact skin. EMLA cream and patches are available in some countries that is somewhat effective. No topical anesthesia blocks the sensation of heavy pressure or movement.

Best wishes,
Topical anesthesia has limited applications. For example, topical anesthesia is effective for certain procedures such as cataract surgery or to decrease the pain from intravenous catheter insertion. For most surgical procedures, topical anesthesia is ineffective.
Yes, for topical procedures.
