Kidney infection?

I had gone to urgent care to get antibiotics for a UTI that started causing kidney pain. I'm taking Keflex antibiotic for a little over a week now and my right kidney pain hasn't gotten any better. Is the antibiotic working?

I am sorry you are not better. Was a culture done? If not please get one done. Keflex doesn’t kill some bacteria which cause bladder infections. If a culture was done, and the bacteria will be killed by Keflex, you may need to continue it for a total of 10 days. If this doesn’t resolve please see a urologist or kidney specialist.
Hello, If your flank pain persists after some antibiotic(Keflex) course you need further work up like Cray and ultrasound studies to evaluate if your right side kidney and urethra may have a possible structural problem(obstacle) for urine flow. And I assume that in Urgent care diagnosis of urinary infection was confirmed before prescribing you an antibiotic.
May take another week. Recommend you submit another urine sample for analysis and culture. May need to switch to a different antibiotic.
