Neurosurgeon Questions Cyst removal

Lateral ventricle cyst

I have been wondering if it is possible to treat a lateral ventricle cyst with cyber knife technology. I have been imagining targeting the wall of the cyst so that it perforates and drains on its own internally.

No radiation cannot perforate the cyst unfortunately. But endoscopic surgery would be a good option.
It depends on your diagnosis, whether the lesion is growing or not, and whether there are any other available options. The CyberKnife is not intended to "perforate" the lesion, so if that is your intended goal of intervention you should talk to a surgeon about potential surgical options to drain or remove the cyst.

Radiation is not a good option for treatment of ventricular cysts. Those should be opened and sometimes the cyst wall has to be removed to prevent re formation of the cyst. In many cases they are benign and can be simply monitored as long as they don't cause symptoms
Hi there,
Stereotactic Radiosurgery is not typically used to treat cysts, since in some cases it can worsen it...
The question is whether this is a simple cyst or a cystic lesion. i will need to review and images and examine you for a better idea.
No type of radiation procedure will create a hole in the wall. It is however possible to do this Endo scopic Lee be quite easily, and I have done it if you don’t have a large lake before. Typically would stay in the hospital one night and go home. Jim Robinson debris
We don’t do that. We perform mechanical perforation of the cyst using minimally invasive approaches.
