“Lung function?”
I have had pleural effusion fluid, withdrawn, from my lungs twice, in the last 6 months. I have follicular NHL. My lungs seem weak, after the fluid tap. The first time, was 102 ounces, just a couple of days ago, it was a pint, off the right lung. Can I use a spirometer, to bring back my lung function? My cough is weak now if I cough up mucus. I am a little concerned. Can you elaborate on what you think the fluid is? It is a kind of light beige color.

Surely your oncologist has sent the fluid for analysis. See a pulmonary doctor if your questions aren’t being answered; I doubt that a spirometer would help.
