Mirtazipine and ativan?

I take mirtazipine at night to help with my sleep. I’m on the lowest dosage and I suffer from anxiety. All is good except my anxiety level is high in the morning. Am I able to take 1 mg of ativan to alleviate this?

Benzodiazepines like alprazolam are not recommended for long term management of anxiety It would be better to adjust the mirtazapine or switch to a different anti-depressant. As far as safey of intermittent alprazolam with an antidepressant like mirtazapine, there are no contraindications to the combined use. Hi there, yes, taking Ativan with mirtazapine is okay. I would only do this occasionally, however, as it increases risk of confusion, dizziness, and poor motor function
Yes that is fine. Ativan is a very common anti-anxiolytic that can be used prn (as needed). Please be cautious of how often and when you take it as it can cause sedation, as can the mirtazapine. While mirtazapine or Remeron is used for anxiety, it is most commonly used now a days for sleep, or to help patients with low appetite. If you don’t feel that it’s helping with any of those I would definitely suggest talking with your physician about switching medications.
Yes, you can take your Lorazepam. But don't take it together with mirtazapine.
Yes, you can take Mirtazipine and Ativan together. Mirtazipine is an antidepressant and Ativan is an antianxiolytic.
