Natural Appetite suppressant

Is there such a thing as a natural appetite suppressant? I want to lose weight but I don't want to take a drug.

Yes, there are a few I know.
The most simple approach I know is drinking a large glass of water before sitting down for your meal. This fills your stomach and shuts off some of the desire for food. Careful with wine or other alcohol as this can have the opposite effect. Flax seeds are another approach, soak them overnight then drink the gelatinous result the next day. Flax soaks up fluid and swells up causing a full feeling. A number of herbs have various effects on appetite as well but try the simple approaches first.

If you are overweight there are plants that can help up you metabolize water more efficiently because the problem is not your appetite and how much you eat but how you metabolize what you eat.

There are three systems in our bodies that process water; our respiratory system, the kidneys, and our immune system.

I hope that helps

The simple answer is "No".
As with many over the counter supplements, herbs, etc, many claims can be
made on the label or in advertising but there is essentially no support of
efficacy because these products are not tested in a controlled way.
The gold standard for demonstrating that something works is the randomized
controlled clinical trial. Of the thousands of products out there that
claim to help lose weight, strengthen your immune response or other
vagaries, few if any have ever been studied rigorously. So in the absence
of any evidence, I would caution anyone about spending their money on
completely unsubstantiated products.

For weight loss, stick with portion control, avoiding high calorie fatty
foods/drinks, and regular exercise. That is natural enough.
I have not seen "natural appetite suppressants" work effectively because appetite, if not due to any medical condition, has a lot to do with your relationship with food and your eating habits. I think the best way to curb sugar cravings is to have adequate protein and fiber throughout the day. I tell my patients to have a protein rich snack or smoothie when they crave sugar and that balances their blood sugar and their cravings are generally reduced. Speak with a nutritionist or your doctor about some options to help you with cravings and balancing appetite. Good luck!

Hello thank you for contacting me.. I hope your day is going well..

Look for .. the seagate products Nopal Cactus fiber supplement .. it re-absorbs about 50-Times its weight ... &.. when taken... it provides a feeling of fullness.. &.. reduces hunger. .. however the root cause of weight challenges are generally mineral-deficiencies ..resulting in what we call... the munchies.. failure to deal with the mineral deficiencies will result in .. cravings .. binge-eating ... &.. well.. the munchies..

I would recommend.. eating regularly.. every 3 to 4 hours.. focusing on.. Low sugar fruits and berries.. lean meats.. and low-fat organic dairy.. and fresh veggies.. eating small meals every 3 to 4 hours will keep your blood sugar levels stable as well as reducing your cortisol levels.. cortisol is the stress hormone.. if your blood sugar drops.. your body will see this as a stress.. and cortisol will be released..

cortisol.. will.. reduce your muscle mass as the underfed muscle has now become a stress .. this will reduce your lean tissues which are also your metabolically active tissues decreasing your metabolism.. making it even more difficult to lose weight.. eating regularly.. Will keep the lean tissues fed.. &.. keep your metabolism high.. so you can burn the fat..

Please reduce your grain consumption.. Grains.. are contaminated with Mycotoxins..

what is that.. they are a product of a fungal metabolism.. myco = fungus.. toxin -is poison.. within the storage process of our grains.. those warm silos are a perfect environment for the replication of tiny microbes... bacteria and yeast cells.. And .. they battle each other with their toxins.. which damages the food supply..

you can cook off mold but these toxins stay.. which does cellular damage..

please for your own benefit check into the Myco-toxicity of our grain supply ... look into aflatoxin B1.. which is a common contaminated of peanuts .. corn.. our grain supply.. these toxins.. interfere with the translation of newly transcribed proteins .. creating toxic malfunctioning proteins.. as well as interfering with the replication of DNA.. causing cancer..
creating all kinds of havoc within the body.. also if you have a yeast condition within the body .. as well .. they are parasites.. surviving off you and what you ingest.. causing cravings.. as you are battling for your own ingested nutrients..
There is some controversy about this, however in my medical opinion, there is no shortcut to losing weight. It’s calories in and calories out. While it may be difficult, I would recommend exercise, especially cardiovascular such as running on a treadmill. It is also beneficial to lift weights as this builds muscle which helps burn off the fat.

Think about going to a gym, having your family GP test your thyroid, measuring the circumference around your waist instead of a BMI. Also, I would suggest gaining some objective insight into if you actually need to lose weight. Are you overweight? Or do you feel you need to shed pounds because of a personal belief that you think you are overweight when you are not?

This is very commonly missed by physicians partly due to perceived stigma, but it is quite common...it is just that nobody talks about it.

A good doctor will explore these areas. I would suggest that you set up an appointment with your physician to discuss the above.
Hi,

I do not recommend appetite suppressants. The most useful weight loss strategies include avoiding carbohydrates and high fat items in diet. Salads without dressings, can be used to get a sense of being full without adding excessive calories, and may be able to satisfy frequent hunger feelings, thus acting as appetite suppressants.
