Neck spasms?

My neck squeezes tight and jerks back and forth and shakes sometimes uncontrollably. What could this be?

Your are having neck spasms. Neck spasms are usually due to irritation of the structures that make up your neck--the bones, ligaments, tendons, joints and discs. The muscles automatically tighten up to try to protect your neck from movements that your body perceives as irritating to those structures. Moist heat, anti-inflammatory medications, physical therapy, and rest usually help. If the symptoms persist, finding out if there is some underlying problem with the structures in your neck, is usually the next step. Sometimes a neck MRI is needed to make that determination,
Seizure. See a neurologist.
