Continue gentle Valsalva maneuvers along with the use of the ibuprofen. The symptoms will resolve in a few days or so.
Get an antiviral medication such as Valcyclovir from a smart informed physician.
This is outside of my expertise, but you could try an over-the-counter anti-histamine or anti-mucus (i.e., Mucinex) and see if that relieves it.
Patience and time. As your body clears the infection, the plugged ears will most likely resolve spontaneously. If your ears still feel plugged a couple weeks after you have recovered from the viral infection, I would recommend that you see an ENT physician to evaluate if further intervention is needed.
