Second degree burn on thigh?

(For reference, I am a writer and I have a character with this issue. I'm sorry, I know that probably isn't what this site is for but I couldn't find the answer anywhere).
My character has a second-degree burn on her thigh. I'm not completely sure how big it is, but I don't think she could cover it with her hand. Burn occurred outdoors (in the woods) and she was treated for it a couple of hours after it happened with burn cream. She noticed that it started swelling pretty much immediately. My question is: would she have a limp? If so how long would this last and how would the burn affect any exercise and activities? Also, would she be better off wearing shorts, loose pants, or what over the dressing/bandage?

The only reason she would limp if it's the clothes is rubbing on the wound and causing pain. If she properly covers it, she would not have to limp. This will not affect any exercise and activities. Please wear loose clothing.
No limp unless tender and person is guarding. Can swell and get red, might need further treatment and be loosely covered.
