“Slow blood sugar drop after stopping atenolol?”
Hello, I was taking Atenolol 100mg a day for 2 years and my a1c was 5.7 and fasting glucose 121. My doctor took me off Atenolol due to the glucose issue as it is known to increase blood sugar and switched me to Coreg. My resting glucose has dropped to 117, but it seems to be dropping slowly. Once you stop Atenolol does it take weeks or months for blood sugar to drop to normal?

Atenolol’s effect on blood sugar is very small. Your A1C is good and your
fasting blood sugars are very good.
