General Practitioner Questions feet swelling

Swelling In Feet

I am experiencing extreme swelling in feet to point its painful and feels like tightness so bad they could burst. At times sharp pain in heels as though someone stabbing with needles. I believe I am overweight and have asthma, degenerative disk and Sciatica in back. I currently take blood pressure medicine to keep it from raising, medicine for thyroid and a water retention pill.

If you are on a "water retention" pill and have high blood pressure, it's time to contact either your primary care doctor or your cardiologist for an immediate evaluation.
The most common cause of feet swelling is an irregular heart beat. The second most common cause is compromised venous return. I have never heard of a water retention pill - I wonder what that is! At any rate, You should see your GP and get an assessment.
