ā€œUnder eye bags?ā€

I have dealt with genetically bad fat pads under my eyes for as long as I can remember. I have bags under my eyes even if I have 12 hours of fully rested sleep. I finally went and saw a surgeon for a lower blepharoplasty, but instead, he suggested a fat transfer from my stomach to under eyes. Reasons being my age (32) that I should wait a few more years for wrinkles and my bone structure in which I have very little cheekbone and my eye orbital can be filled with fat to help my bag look almost nonexistent. I liked the price decrease, but if Iā€™m going through with this I need to know this will eliminate my bags also. What should I do?

Hi! Fat transfer to the lower eyelids is a good option if volume loss is the issue. For loose skin or wrinkles sometimes a laser treatment or peel can help. A lower blepharoplasty can address both of these issues. Filler injection is an option that can last up to 12-18 months and an option for some patients and cost less than surgery. My office would be happy to arrange a consultation for you to see me to discuss further if you wish. Either way, I hope this helps answer your questions.
Hello, sounds like you went in to buy an apple and they are trying to sell you a lifetime supply of oranges. Don't be fooled by the lower prices. This happens all the time. A lower lid blepharoplasty is permanent. Fat transfer is an awful idea, because fat is clumpy and should never be used for under eyes, which have the thinnest skin of the entire body, and it is temporary, lasting 1-5 years. Fillers are a better option, but are temporary as well, only lasting 3-4 months. Surgeons operate, and I am not sure if you went to a reliable surgeon. I perform this procedure for anyone over the age of 18. It is genetic and needs to be removed. For further information, you can visit my website, at Drroya.com. Good luck!
