What are my chances of getting HIV?

I work at a jail. I was called to clean a cell that had feces spread all over the cell. We use a machine that sprays water and vacuums it up. I found out that the person had HIV while cleaning the cell. I was wearing gloves and had a cloth mask on. What are my chances of getting HIV?

Get tested and you will know for sure.
Unless stuff got in your eyes, slim to none. Since it happened at work, demand an HIV test and a Hepatitis test. By law, they must provide. Good luck. Read about UNIVERSAL PRECAUTIONS to learn how to protect yourself. Also, they should have given you an OSHA orientation to teach you the above. If they didn't, report the jail to the Occupational Safety and Hazard Agency, called OSHA. Call OSHA to report emergencies, unsafe working conditions, safety and health violations, to file a complaint, or to ask safety and health questions.
