You need to have X-rays, MRI, and EMG studies. You need to see a neurologist. You may need medications, physical or chiropractic therapy, acupuncture therapy, pain medicine consultation. You may also need a Neurosurgery consultation, if necessary.
There are so many options for nerve damage in the back depending on the cause. If the nerve damage causes pain, some options are heat or ice or a TENS unit in addition to physical therapy. You may also try massage or acupuncture. There are also topical creams for pain as well as over the counter medication such as motrin or prescription medication. There are also implantable devices to help with pain. If you are asking if nerve damage to the spine can be fixed, it would depend on the cause. If there is a disc or other physical structure pressing on the spinal cord then injections may help temporarily, but surgery is a better option. If the spinal cord damage is from a stroke, then the damaged nerves cannot regrow, but physical therapy can help.
