“What is the reason for my acidity?”
I am suffering from severe acidity and heartburn for the last 1 week. I have taken the required medication, yet the condition is not settling down. What could be the reason for the same?

Either the medication is not suppressing acid enough or the symptom you have is not actually from acid reflux. A good GI doc can help to sort it out.
You may have eaten a gastric irritant such as alcohol, excess caffeine, or heavily spiced foods. I would try watching your diet carefully and doubling the dose of your poi such as Nexium.
What medications have you taken so far? I suggest that you see your doctor if your symptoms persist or fail to improve.
